Towards St Martin’s values
The long-standing motto of the Name Day—“Do good”—was inspired St Martin, who shared his cloak with a person in need. Over more than three decades of the event, we have looked up to the values epitomized by St Martin—pride in the local identity and heritage, respect for diversity, care for those in need, building common grounds and concern for our surroundings.
These values have been reflected both in the programmes for that unique day and in the artistic setting of the celebrations, which included colourful characters, features and installations. This year will be no different. We are going to give special consideration to the entries that engage with the aforementioned values.
We also welcome projects in which the features are created in collaboration with various local communities, as well as undertakings which promote environmentally friendly use of materials and take advantage of “second-hand” items.
What do you need to know?
