You are entering a world where reality intertwines with imagination, and logic gives way to absurdity. Klucz Theatre invite you to participate in a creative process in which both the performance and the artists are made. In a space where they can express themselves on their own terms, create art in accordance with their own experiences and sensibilities.
Every movement, breath, sound, word and element of costume is part of a larger puzzle whose meaning may elude you. Not everything will be obvious, not everything will have its immediate explanation. Still, but you will eventually see that curious, absurd theatrical puzzle solved.
The artists of Klucz Theatre are fully fledged creators of Intro; they do not play roles “scripted” by someone else, but construct their own stage presence, affirming their own existence and experiences. These are their stories, their visions, their courage to overcome boundaries, both physical and those that exist only in our heads.
Intro is not just a performance—it is a manifesto of courage, creativity and the need for expression. Music, body, chaos and order—all this makes up an experience that may surprise, amuse, confuse and perhaps even change you.
Let yourself be carried away. Let yourself get lost. Only to find yourself afterwards.
“Klucz Theatre is a phenomenon. The
Poznań-based group, led for several seasons by choreographer and dancer Janusz
Orlik, has grown into one of the most interesting acts in Polish theatre,”
Dominik Gac notes in Teatr.
Klucz is one of the few theatre companies in Poland composed of artists with
disabilities who, despite their lack of formal background, have become highly
accomplished professionally. Their performances garner interest and recognition
with audiences and critics alike, they are invited to perform all over Poland,
as well as win awards and distinctions. Their 2022 Tranquillo received The Best OFF!, the main prize in the National
Competition for the Best Independent Theatre Production. The group’s previous
production, Amoroso from 2024, was
ranked 5th among 25 most interesting performances of the 2024/25
season according to the Teatr monthly
(https://teatr-pismo.pl/najlepsze-spektakle-sezonu-1-5/).
The artists of Klucz Theatre are participants in the “Przylesie” Occupational Therapy Workshop run by the Na Tak Association. Their adventure with theatre began 20 years ago with theatre workshops conducted by therapist Hanna Rynowiecka and actor Wojciech Deneka. For the last ten years, the company have been working at ZAMEK Culture Centre. In 2021, Janusz Orlik (www.januszorlik.com), dancer, choreographer and dance teacher, took over the artistic supervision of the group.
2026 is a year of round anniversaries! 20 years on stage, 10 years of professional dramatic work at ZAMEK Culture Centre! Come and celebrate the birthday of Klucz Theatre! Join us for the premiere of Intro!
