In our daily activities we seek connections between cultural and artistic educators, therapists, sociotherapeutic institutions and educators of people in danger of social isolation. We carry out socially engaged initiatives, involving various groups in cultural life and responding to difficulties that affect our society. We address issues such as: social inclusion, mental health, multiculturalism and social justice.
"SWITCH ON! INTERNATIONAL
FORUM FOR CULTURAL ENGAGEMENT” is intended as a platform of
exchange for people seeking to influence their immediate surroundings through
cultural activity. In order to combine multiple perspectives on cultural engagement, the Forum's programme was created by organisations
representing different spheres of social life, including education, culture, medicine and
therapy.
The event concludes a three-year international project "Cultural education for adults in need of sociotherapeutic support”. The project is co-funded by the European Union and involves participant organisations from Poland, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain and Greece. The Forum will also promote the initiatives implemented as part of the Poznań Cultural Education Programme, which focuses on intercultural integration.

FORM
Please fill in the registration form in order to join the Forum.
The Forum consists of three interconnected and complementary thematic blocks. This division is intended to facilitate participants in finding activities best tailored to their interests. Presentations, panel discussions and workshops have been created in order to give voice to various social, age, cultural and ethnic groups, including people with disabilities and people experiencing homelessness crisis.
SWITCH ON! In Society
This block explores the relations between arts education, cultural education, psychological and
sociotherapeutic support. Presentations and panel discussions will focus on collaboration between people from different
cultural and ethnic backgrounds who work towards the improvement of social inclusion. We will talk
about building relationships and partnerships, as well as supporting and engaging local
communities. We will tune in to people who find it difficult to access
culture and meet those who support groups at risk of social isolation.
SWITCH ON! In Therapy
A block on music therapy used in working with a range of community groups, including people with disabilities, in mental health crisis and those who have experienced homelessness crisis. Presentations will focus around recordings of individual and group music therapy sessions with children and adults. During music therapy workshops, participants will be invited to experience the impact of music making on the development of their creativity. The workshops will be held by:
•
Jackie Robarts - former Nordoff Robbins music therapy tutor and
lecturer at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. She is
currently involved in international music therapy practice: www.jacquelinezrobarts.com.
• Dominika Dopierała - music therapist and president of the Nordoff Robbins Poland Foundation.

Personal Data

The graphic consists of a supersized light bulb, whose stem resembles a
human head. In the center of the bulb is a red filament. The pear-shaped bulb has subtle red and blue tinges in two sections of the otherwise black rim. In the middle of the stem lies a single eye, with a nose and mouth on both sides. The lips seems to annunciate the words: "International Forum for
Cultural Engagement", written in Polish on one side and in English on the other. At the top of the bulb, a bilingual inscription reads „Włącznik!” and "Switch on!”. The bottom of the graphic contains logos and funding credits.
