ZAMEK Culture Centre

Every two years, authors of the most interesting and the most important volumes of prose published in Poland come to CK ZAMEK. They represent diverse styles, various generations, and a wealth of viewpoints. We wish to listen to well-told stories, but also inquire what, why and how we tell each other. Asking questions about literature, we also ask about politics and social transformations, about the old philosophical quandaries and the new ideas. This year’s Festival is, among other things, concerned with the political shift of 1989 and its systemic aftermath, which has been described only recently by the younger generation of authors.  We will also pay attention to the genre of historical reportage which witnesses a major revival, highlight growing importance of illustrators and promote debuting writers.
