Is it true that portraits live a life of their own? Does it happen that a
portrait disappears or—even worse—the person depicted in it vanishes? Is every
picture we take with our phones a portrait?
These questions provide a point of departure for the art workshops which
introduce children into the magical world of portraits. The children are going
to find out whom the past artists liked to portray best and how the earliest
portrait photography looked like, but they will also have the opportunity to
create their own portrait or depict a person of their choosing.
The workshops draw on the story in the interactive e-book entitled Tajemnicze zniknięcie Białej Damy, which
recounts the adventures of four children who accidentally witness the flight of
the chief figure from its painting.
