The upcoming 22nd edition of the International Documentary Film Festival OFF CINEMA promises that for five days Poznań will become a city of Polish and international documentary.

This years, competing for the main prize of the Golden Castle are 29 films from 14 countries, including 12 pictures by Polish filmmakers. Those involved in the selection agree that the quality of submissions was indeed very high. Now the selection will be judged by the jurors: authors of Loving Vincent,  Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, feature and documentary director Bartosz Konopka, director Anna Zamecka and Egyptian filmmaker Mina Nabil.

Our Platinum Castle will go to one of the most distinctive masters of authorial documentary, Marcel Łoziński. Two years ago, a wide poll found that his Anything Can Happen is the best Polish documentary ever made.
Next to competition screenings, the programme of the festival includes meetings with the jurors, the Panorama series featuring e.g. films by the outstanding Kazimierz Karabasz, who regrettably died recently, the International Documentary section showcasing the phenomenal latest productions, including a premiere of a picture about Ingmar Bergman. There will also be three showings at the festival club, a scholarly session and a special screening of Score: A Film Music Documentary, which introduces our eponymous section devoted to music documentaries. On top of that, Diana Dąbrowska and Grzegorz Fortuna will be conducting workshops in film criticism.

The Festival kicks off on October 17th, lasting until
October 21st. See you there!programme
