ʺFalling in love with Fridaʺ is an intimate and enticing performance that
explores the life, loves and legacy of painter Frida Kahlo. A show which taps
into and benefits from the life’s experiences, feelings and artistic brilliance
of Caroline Bowditch, a performer and choreographer, herself a disabled artist,
just as Frida had been. The performance is
an enquiry into how we shape what we
are remembered for and how much we can really control others’ memories of us.
It exposes many little-known facts about the famous woman, remembered chiefly
for her work. Bowditch’s authorial ʺFalling in love with Fridaʺ had the audiences spellbound at the Edinburgh Fringe in
2014, and won her the prestigious Herald Angel Award.
