The 2017 World Press Photo contest drew entries from around the world; in total, 5,034 photographers from 125 countries submitted 80,408 images. The jury gave prizes in eight categories to 41 photographers from 25 countries.
The title of the World Press Photo of the Year 2016 went to an Associated Press photojournalist, Burhan Ozbilici from Turkey, for the picture showing the assassin of Andrei Karlov, Russian Ambassador in Turkey.
For many years now, ZAMEK has been the venue where Polish premiere of that prestigious photojournalism contest. The winning pictures, which as always address the most topical themes in the world today, will be presented at CK ZAMEK until May 21st.
