This year’s motto of the Great Orchestra is eloquently simple: “Because Helping is Child’s Play”. The funds gathered in the course of the finale will go towards purchases of medical equipment for specialist children’s hospitals. These are facilities with secondary or tertiary referral departments, capable of making expert diagnoses and providing treatment to the most seriously affected children. At present there are nearly 50 such hospitals in Poland. The programme of the 27th Grand Finale, organized in collaboration with the Collection Centre at the Poznań University of Technology, includes live concerts, auctions, stands of uniformed services, blood donation minicentre, activities for children and families, as well as the traditional Light to the Sky.
