World Press Photo Contest
is the foremost photojournalism competition in the world, while ZAMEK Culture
Centre in Poznań is proud to be the long-standing host of the Polish premiere
of the Exhibition which celebrates the winners. The 61st edition of the Photo
Contest this year drew entries from 4,548 photographers representing 125
countries, with over 73,000 images in total. In 2018, the Jury was chaired by Magdalena
Herrera, while the works were assessed as anonymous submissions. It is for the
first time in World Press Photo history that nominees to the Photo of the Year
have been announced. The winner will be disclosed only on April 12th,
during the Awards Show in Amsterdam.
