Conversation: The State of Disability Inclusion in the Industry

A timely exploration of the state of disability inclusion in the film industry, this panel examines authentic representation both behind and in front of the camera, alongside the evolving practices of accessible exhibition. Panelists will share perspectives from the U.S., U.K., and Europe, highlighting initiatives, challenges, and pathways toward a more inclusive global film ecosystem.

Presentation: Make-Belive in the Service of Truth – The Making of the Freak Show Documentary

Since 2023, Filip Pawlak, together with Łukasz Ronduda and a group of artists with disabilities, has been working on Freak Show, a project which includes a feature-length documentary film (cinema premiere in spring 2026) and an eponymous theatre performance (which premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in October 2024). In his presentation, Filip will focus on the strategy of using creative documentary to increase the visibility of artists with disabilities and to engage in a dialogue with harmful film representations and cultural clichés.
